Privacy policy

YapMic collects no data. None.

What the app does

YapMic streams your iPhone's microphone into Ableton Live over your local Wi-Fi network using Ableton Link. It is a cable, not a recorder: the audio goes straight from the mic to Live on your own network. It is never recorded, stored, or processed by the app, and it never leaves your network.

What is collected

Nothing. No accounts, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, no crash reporting, no backend servers. The app makes no network requests of its own beyond the local peer-to-peer Link Audio connection.

Microphone access

Used only to capture the audio you are sending to Ableton Live while the app is open. Audio is transmitted directly to Live on your local network and nowhere else.

Local network access

Used only to discover Ableton Link peers — such as your computer running Live — on your Wi-Fi network. No information from this is collected or shared.

What is stored on your device

One local setting that remembers whether you have completed the first-open walkthrough. It stays on your device and is never transmitted.

Third parties

No data is shared with anyone, because no data is collected.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the new version will be posted at this address.
